We had a really nice session discussing the short story "Popular Mechanics" by Raymond Carver. We exposed different interpretations of the moral of the story, using all advantages which the great literature gives: rich vocabulary, intonation, grammar constructions, writing style etc. The lesson was beneficial and extremely interesting.

We had a really nice session. I shared with Varvara my vivid impressions about my trip to Switzerland where I was last weekend. Varvara helped me a lot pointing out some grammar mistakes in the story about this event written for my blog. Excellent class!

We had a very captivating conversation about traveling and literature. We discussed interesting places for tourists in Switzerland, Impression from Bern and Florence including possible effect of Stendhal syndrome or Florence syndrome. Last part of the class was dedicated to writing, the result of the discussion was published on my blog http://item1000.blogspot.com/2017/05/jazz-mood-sounds-of-autumn-short-story.html Remarkable class!

We talked about the short story "Early autumn" written by Langston Hughes. It was a very deep discussion. Varvara has an encyclopedic knowledge of literature. I remembered some her advice for reading stories such as: to pay attention the beginning and the end of the story, think about repetition which author uses and so on. Brilliant class!
