Data Deletion

How to ask us to delete your account and your personal data.

You can ask us to delete your account and the personal data attached to it at any time and free of charge. This page explains exactly how to do it, what gets deleted, and what we are legally required to keep.

1. How to Request Deletion

  1. Send an email to contact@albert-learning.com, from the email address associated with your account. You can also make the request through the support chat on this website.

Use the following subject line: Data deletion request

In your message, please give us your first name, your last name, and the email address of the account you want deleted. If you signed up with Facebook or Google, tell us which one, so that we can find the right account.

  2. We acknowledge your request and check that it comes from the account holder. We may ask you one question to confirm your identity, for example the date of one of your recent lessons. This step protects you from someone else deleting your account.

  3. We delete or anonymise your data within one month of receiving your request, as required by Article 12 of the GDPR, and we send you a confirmation email once it is done. If your request is unusually complex, we may extend that period by two further months and will tell you why within the first month.

2. What We Delete

  • Your account: name, email address, password, phone number, date of birth, nationality, and postal address.
  • Your learner profiles, including those you created for your children: photo, gender, languages, level, occupation, and interests.
  • Your learning history: lesson bookings, attendance, lesson reports, exercise and exam results, assessments, and the ratings you gave.
  • Your Facebook and Google identifiers, so that no link remains between your Albert Learning account and your Facebook or Google account.
  • Your communication preferences, newsletter subscription, acquisition data, and support conversations.

3. What We Must Keep, and Why

A small amount of data survives deletion because the law requires us to keep it. It is archived, no longer used to contact you, and restricted to the staff who need it:

  • Invoices and accounting records, for 10 years, under French tax and commercial law.
  • Training records funded through the French Compte Personnel de Formation (CPF), for the period set by the applicable regulations.

4. Disconnecting Facebook

If you signed in with Facebook, there are two separate things you can do, and you may do either or both:

  • Revoke our access on Facebook, so that Facebook stops sharing anything with us. Open Facebook, go to Settings and privacy, then Settings, then Apps and websites, find Albert Learning, and remove it.
  • Ask us to delete your data, using the procedure in section 1 above. This removes the Facebook identifier we hold, along with the rest of your account.

Revoking access on Facebook stops any further sharing, but it does not by itself delete the data we already hold. To have that deleted, send us the request described in section 1.

5. Your Other Rights

Besides deletion, you can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it, restrict or object to its processing, withdraw your consent, or receive it in a portable format. Each of these rights is described in full in our privacy policy: Privacy Policy

If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
